Ferrari classic sportscar 250 California GT sold for $5.8 million at Paris auction house
A classic Ferrari sportscar, belonging to late French director and producer, Roger Vadim, was auctioned for a record $5.8 million at the Paris auction house earlier on 3rd of this month. Vadim, who married one of the hottest women from the 60's, Brigitte Bardot, bought the brand new silver Ferrari 250 California GT LWB back in 1959.
After Vadim, the Ferrari classic sportscar was owned by yet another French director, Jean Claude Bajol. Apart from directing movies, Bajol was also a Ferrari collector. After he died last year, it was announced that his collection will go under the hammer at the Paris auction by Bohams. An unknown bidder from UK is the new owner of the classic Ferrari convertible.
Apart from this, there were around 80 more carswhich were being auctioned at the Paris auction house. Bohams is yet to declare total fetch from the auction, but analysts estimate a figure close which will be close to $15 million. According to experts, classic cars are looked upon as long term investments by investors today. This has resulted in higher price bids at auction houses around the globe.
